A Meeting with Chu-Ko Yen

Reading Time: 9 minutes

Guest Post by Nigel Bell

Early in the morning, I beat the tourist crowds to Florence‘s Boboli gardens to get some writing and contemplation done. After two weeks on holidays, I needed to get away to a place where I could gather my thoughts and hold a spiritual focus without distraction.

During a spiritual exercise the night before, I was having Master Chu-Ko Yen enter my awareness. He was the subject of a spiritual exercise I created.

Author and Spiritual Master, Paul Twitchell, mentioned Master Chu-Ko Yen in his writings as the teacher of the God Current during the times of Confucius, 551 BCE.

While Confucius was encouraging formal education for all, and Cyrus the Great of Persia was expanding his empire, Chu-Ko Yen was quietly serving God, sharing the teachings of the Audible Life Steam (Spirit) with seekers of truth and transferring the higher consciousness to those prepared to accept it.

The gardens were peaceful early in the morning until I discovered the mosquitoes also found them rewarding places. After a peaceful walk waving them away, I decided to leave the gardens and head to one of the smaller Basilicas close to the city centre to contemplate.

On my way, I began having flashes in my spiritual eye of what Chu-Ko Yen might look like. After a few minutes of walking, I found a Basilica. In its sanctuary, I began to focus on settling into the moment. If it’s the will of Spirit to provide an opportunity to meet Sri Chu-Ko Yen, then so be it. Why else had he been on my mind?

During my contemplation, I felt a shadow pass my eyelids. When I opened them, an Asian man in his late forties stood in an aisle looking at me. His head was completely shaved but somehow, I knew it was not always styled like that. He once had black, shoulder length hair tied into a near perfect topknot or ‘Ji’.

His lean, stealthy, stature reminded me of an ancient warrior’s. Yet, he was dressed in dark green cargo pants, a coffee cream casual shirt, a pair of olive colored hiking boots, a light brown cotton jacket and a dark leather shoulder bag to match. It was easy to believe he was a regular tourist standing in the aisle across from me admiring the religious frescos.

His face was oval shaped with full lips. His thin, dark eyebrows were well defined as were his eye lashes and high cheek bones. I couldn’t help noticing how his dark colored eyes held a penetrating gaze. It was the opposite of aggressive, holding me in an aura of tranquility.

Quite unexpectedly, I kept seeing him with a modern style mustache, but his appearance shimmered, causing his presence to flicker with a bluish light like a hologram.

His mustache changed from a modern style into a much older Manchu style. Then his appearance shimmered once again, and his facial hair looked modern. As soon as I accepted him for who he was, the shimmering stopped.

For all I knew, he was deliberately disguising himself to avoid unwanted attention. As a monk from ancient times, he would have had some explaining to do to local authorities if they checked his identity.

Chu-Ko Yen stood taller than I had expected. Somewhere between five foot ten and six feet. What struck me most was his warm, matter of fact, relaxed manner. He exuded confidence and goodwill.

He sat down in the pew opposite me. As he turned, I was surprised to hear a North American, maybe California accent. I suspected he was speaking in English for my benefit because I certainly couldn’t have understood Mandarin.

“Give thanks to the Atmanuhks.” he said. “Without them this planet would have been swayed towards misfortune long ago. And you know the misfortune I refer to is nothing like forgetting to sweep out your home before Chinese New Year, right?”  He smiled.

“What is an Atmanuhk?”

“An Atmanuhk is the advanced Soul who follows the dictates of the Inner Self and lives in the higher consciousness, always facing God. This Soul knows life on this earth plane is only temporary and each Soul travels its own individual path back to the Source.”

He chatted to me like we were old friends, hinting at the importance of having advanced Souls on the planet helping to maintain its balance. I couldn’t recall ever meeting him before today, but I felt at ease enough to be able to say anything I wanted in his company. His tone of voice was warm and persuasive.

“I guess the world has changed a lot since the times of Confucius.”

“Not as much as people would expect.” he replied. “Yes, medicine and manufacturing in all their forms have improved, but your soil and crop quality have reduced due to pollution.

“People are living longer but their quality of life is not that great. Child mortality is much higher today. Technology has made life generally easier. People have become weaker, more worldly, socially compliant, mentally fragile, and physically overweight.

“Weather patterns have become very unstable. And there still exists a preoccupation with the old familiar challenges humans always face when reincarnating here. Human consciousness really hasn’t changed a great deal over the last few thousand years.”

“Can you explain?”

“Well, the human drive to control and have power over others still remains the same. Personality worship is on the rise. The wealthy and powerful still strive to control financial markets, your food supplies, international weapon’s manufacturing, and Earth’s natural resources.

“The exploitation of your fellow human beings still persists much the same as it did 2,500 years ago. Man’s appetite for global warfare has increased because of technology. And your so-called progressive’s who sincerely want world peace cannot maintain peace and harmony amongst their own families and communities, let alone the world.”

While adjusting his seat to get comfortable, he said, “It highlights how the human consciousness is so easily manipulated by the negative power. The powers of darkness continue to try to arrest the influence of the spiritual powers, just as they did in earlier times.”

Looking up at the ornate architecture of the Basilica, he continued to explain. “The consciousness of Souls who have reincarnated during this period, are in flux. They must decide whether to step up or fall back in their spiritual growth. There is an old saying, ‘The salmon is always ready to return to its spawning grounds’ They are always ready to swim against the torrid currents to ensure the survival of their species. They do what it takes.

“The human Spirit is the same when it’s pressed. Spiritual survival is what this earth world is good at testing and strengthening. To reach the God centre, Soul has to rise above the confluent influences of social consciousness that pervades the lower realms at the behest of the negative powers.”

I said, “It’s a good reminder that this world is a training ground especially designed to test the resilient nature of Soul.”

“Each lifetime presents you with an opportunity to become spiritually stronger and more flexible in nature.” He replied.

“You must let your courage, tenacity, love, strength, and vision unite as one, if you want to bring your spiritual destiny into the present. You are on the spiritual journey home to become the Atmanuhk. It’s time to live your ideals now with all the passion for living that accompanies such a noble endeavor.

“In the heavenly realm of Alahk Lok where I teach; the physical preservation of humanity, the environmental health of the planet, and the sustainability of the physical universe is never discussed or referenced.”

“Why?”

He smiled, “Why do you think?”

I said, “Is it because there is no need for it? A Soul’s consciousness will only rise to the level it can accept and that’s the key for survival here.”

“That’s correct. Someone with a high state of consciousness naturally manifests an innate harmony and balance in everything they do. They can trust the consequences of their actions. As agents of change they aim for nothing less than the Realisation of Oneness first, knowing all they need will manifest around them and through them at the right time and place.

“The Atmanuhk doesn’t expect this planet to become an eternal paradise or their permanent forever home. It’s simply not designed for that. To expect such a result is like thinking you can remain youthful in your physical body forever.

“It’s not to say you shouldn’t do your level best to maintain your physical health and preserve environmental sustainability. But remember, the material body and the planetary bodies are designed to wear out.

“I often discuss with my students how essential it is to be a pure instrument for God’s Presence during these times and to have as many awakened individuals as possible stationed around the planet. Each one content to serve the blessed Lord of Hosts to provide opportunities for the spiritual unfoldment of all truth seekers.

“When you hold formal spiritual gatherings in the name of the Ancient One, you are taking the right steps toward manifesting positive change. You not only discover the immortality of Self, but you also discover how to be a prime mover for the Divine God Current. Such a Soul lets the Sound Current flow like a river through their consciousness, bringing harmony and balance into the world around them.

“The mission of Soul as it reaches its spiritual apex, is to point others who are seeking truth to the divine ground of Being, the temple within and the feet of the Master.

“There are many esoteric secrets associated with the expansion of Soul consciousness which cannot be discussed openly. They are best kept for private gatherings of those initiates who have earned the right and have accepted the full responsibility of becoming a coworker with God. Suffice to say, everlasting spiritual benefits are mainly gained through daily exploration of the heavenly states of consciousness.

“It’s important to never deny others the same opportunities you have had to discover the keys to higher consciousness. Each individualized expression of God’s love must assist with the great Cause in their own way. The realization of higher consciousness primarily occurs by learning to sit quietly and do nothing.” He smiled.

“By being still inside?”

“Precisely. The advanced Soul understands through stillness, how the power, the glory and sacred presence resonates freely through its consciousness. He brings a heightened spiritual awareness with him and transfers it to others who are open to it.

“Successful Souls align their personal preferences with Spirit’s preferences. In tune with the Infinite, their personal and spiritual life, becomes synthesized. As author Paul Twitchell once said, “Soul must follow the beat of its own drum.”

“The Atmanuhk possesses a spiritual power uncommon to the spiritual leaders of orthodox teachings who lack the awareness of themselves as Soul.

“Two Christian examples of Souls who were Atmanuhks of their day are Padre Pio of Pietrelcina and St Francis of Assisi. There are others, too many to mention, from all religions who have surrendered themselves to the Lord of Hosts.

“Standing at the crossroads in eternity, it isn’t orthodox religion that humanity needs during this cycle. It is spiritual self discipline, an active faith and true humility before God to awaken the Prophet within. Many Souls are ready and waiting an inner awakening through the Audible life Stream.

“Such a connection can be further sustained by adopting clear codes of ethical behavior and living by universal spiritual principles.

“For example, the Ten Commandments are a basic set of standards you could apply to live a basic moral life. They are a starting point.

“The most important standards to live by, if you want to raise your awareness to the higher, nameless worlds of heaven, are the Spiritual Laws of Life. Eventually they too will be surpassed. It is your destiny to awaken the Prophet within and be a Law unto thyself—a Law of Love, that is.

“To benefit most from the Laws of Life and awaken spiritually you must sink deeply into Presence. Spiritual Laws are reminders of how to live ethically and spiritually. They are guiding principles of the way of least resistance. They can certainly lead you toward Truth, but they cannot make you realize Truth. Only the Master can help do this.

“As you surrender to the Holy One, you’ll realize four simple truths to assist you along the way to becoming a greater expression of God’s love.

(1) Life isn’t all about ‘me.’

(2) Selflessness begins and ends in the loving heart.

(3) It’s never my will, always Thy will, that leads you to truth.

(4) Always look from the state of awareness you aim to be, as if you were already there and it will be so.

“You will no longer preoccupy yourself with ‘who I am, what I am and that I am’. You are now centered within the heart of the great Sound Wave.”

“How do I get there?”

“Ah, it’s simple,” he said, “Just Be.”
