The theme is still “LOVE”…. There are so many different kinds of Love. We can love—or not love—just about anything. So often in present times, we are so busy with schedules, commitments, activities, being of service to others, we tend to put everything else first and ourselves last—if at all!
Yesterday seems to have become something of a turning point in my life, a bit of an unexpected Valentine from Divine Spirit. I am visiting here with my daughter. We each had the same secret plan, to prepare our Valentine “gifts” for one another “on the sly” and set them out first thing in the morning on the respective recliner chairs in the living room. Surprise! We caught each other in the process …
Not surprising, our gifts to one another had the same theme—chocolates! I got her an ample supply of what she can consume. I received individually wrapped chocolates as well. I love chocolate and am hard pressed to find any I can eat these days due to additives that never used to be there, but today I had chocolates for breakfast! Not a bad way to start a day with the emphasis on LOVE!
My plan du jour had been to spend all day working on the motorhome. I’m in the process of moving back in after extensive repairs were completed that were not able to be done during the Covid years for so many reasons! And now it’s below freezing most days so it is a slow process.
However, after the morning spiritual exercise, I had a surprising, unexpected inner nudge to do something else instead. Since I am single and had no commitments for the day, to spend it by giving love to myself! “Be your own Valentine!”
What a concept! Have you tried it? For me, this included an at-home spa treatment of sorts, to give love to my physical self by taking care of my body in a relaxing, unhurried manner…while dreams of a luxurious bubble bath soak in the tub became a hot water shower, followed by attention to much neglected skin care, long overdue manicure and pedicure…finally attending to the broken fingernails acquired in the daily demands of motorhome maintenance that I have been wanting to repair for several weeks…hair care, clean head to toe, relaxed and restored, the energy in my personal universe at peace, in harmony with al life, and filled with unconditional love.
With the blessing of two loads of clean laundry available, I could now wear the red with pink hearts sleep shirt my daughter got me a few weeks ago. All set!
The day moved along in a loving, unhurried manner that was easy to flow with, time to do some writing, little bits of this and that, trim excess off the laptop, share a few loving messages, just move along gracefully as the inner nudges suggested….
Late in the day, I did get out to the RV to do a few little things, make sure everything was doing fine, and it was, so I could relax in the recliner chair and watch a little TV. Very little, as I drifted off to sleep without actually viewing anything.
And then, the “day” was over—wake up, time to go to bed! A good night’s sleep ensued, with dreams to boot!
Here is my take-away from this; a gentle, loving, and essential reminder: Our body is our Temple, our home here on earth. Mostly, it asks very little of us—daily requirements of food and sleep, of course—yet we expect it do everything we think/decide/determine we need it to do, without even asking.
I recently did a 26-hour non-stop marathon in my RV to get unpacking, storing and securing done enough to make it safe to drive to keep an out of town music performance commitment. It worked, with only 2-3 hours sleep afterward. Following episodes like this, the body is expected to run as if it had not missed a full night’s rest and most of another night as well. Burn the candle at both ends, and the middle as well…. I know full well I am not the only one who does this. Let’s not do this anymore, okay?
I am not a medical professional, nor do I portray one on TV, but after this experience, I do not hesitate to prescribe it for anyone, nay, everyone. Take some time to love yourself, love and appreciate your personal Temple for overall good health and well being.

Whatever your personal version of a “Chocolates for Breakfast Day” might be, why not create it and make it a special celebration of you, for you, and by you? Celebrate yourself often, on a regular basis. You are more than worth it!
“Love yourself first; then you have all you need to be love to others.”
May the Blessings BE!

Sweet! Hey, my birthday’s coming up. Maybe I’ll treat myself to a chocolate truffle!
