“Seeds of Love”

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Guest Post by RJ McBride

For forty some years I’d wandered in a half-awake, half-slumber state of consciousness all the while wondering why life had to be so hard and unjust. Over time, my collective experiences had left me a few grains of understanding.

Today, I’ve accumulated enough grains of knowledge to maybe fill a small bucket. And who knows, come tomorrow I may need a larger container. But simply storing these grains of wisdom does little good unless sharing what has been learned by one’s endeavors. And yet, for all that such renderings invoke, there are moments when only the poetic voice speaks to what is truly in one’s heart and Soul.

What is Life?

“What is life? Is life the seeds of grass, drifting aimlessly, at times multiplying then dying, while at other times being swept into the vast expanse of the heavens?”

Inspired by various passages in the chapter “What is Life” in the book Dialogues with the Master by Paul Twitchell, 1983 edition.

How Divine Intervention Saved My Life

“Don’t go to work today,” my Inner Teacher whispered in his gentle voice one morning during contemplation as I sang my love song to God—HU. The date was June 14th, 1995. It could have been my last day on earth if not for divine intervention.

In July 1980 my first baby, Kathy, was five months old, and I hadn’t had a paying job since she was born. And our family needed me to have one. After a job interview at the South Bend library, one of the branch managers, Carol, smiled and said as I was leaving, “We’ll be seeing you again!” But weeks passed with no word from her or anyone else.

What Would Love Do?

If you had seven days to live, what would you do? Who would you call? What would you say? How would you spend your time? With whom?”

After contemplation one morning, I pondered these questions and discussed them with Michael. We affectionately call our early morning sessions where we share insights about life and spirituality, “Conversations with Honey.” Waking dreams and relationships are always our favorite subjects. On this day, however, “Living Life to the Fullest” happened to be our topic of the day.

If Not Now, When?

Dear Friends,

“The time for life is now. The time for love is now.
The time to do it is now, not tomorrow.”
—Leo Buscaglia

One powerful way the Universe communicates with us is through inner guidance. Learning how to recognize Its messages, we can be directed toward the right path, meeting the right people, and doing the right thing. Awareness is key.

What would happen if I didn’t follow my inner guidance? I wondered. One day I learned, and the price was extremely high.

The Music of the Spheres

All life is connected at the innermost level by thin golden strands of light, weaving a tapestry of divine love. It is a shimmering, musical wave of energy“the Music of the Spheres”that we can hear with our inner senses in contemplation.

The Music of the Spheres is known by other names: “Divine Love,” “Divine Spirit,” “the Holy Spirit,” “Spirit,” “the Voice of God,” even, generically, “the Universe.”

It speaks to us in dreams, inner whisperings, and through symbols in our daily life—waking dreams. This divine consciousness provides guidance, warnings, glimpses into our future, clarity on our past, and confirmations on important matters, including relationships.

Trail Ride

On my birthday weekend in September 2001, I received an unexpected gift. A woman friend and I decided a road trip was just the answer to a difficult year. Our first stop was a small motel near Gooseberry Falls, some forty miles north of Duluth, where we spent a restful night. The next day we left early, planning to stop and explore the falls before continuing north to Grand Marais, our destination. Plans changed, however.
