My wife and I finally managed to schedule a “get away” weekend on the Oregon coast to escape from our hectic schedules. As I drove the winding road toward the coast, memories of previous trips floated across my mind. On our last few trips to the beach, we had found dark basalt rocks with quartz crystal heart-shapes on them and had some memorable experiences.
The ocean seemed to be a catalyst for these experiences, and I began to wonder what this trip might bring.

I was born in Wisconsin, in the heart of the flatlands, and never tired of the mountains’ majesties of the American west. We were winding up our vacation, enjoying the drive through the spacious plateaus of southern Oregon. After a number of high desert adventures we were ready to put it on cruise control. People come up with any number of reasons for not asking for assistance: “I don’t want to bother anyone;” “I’m not worthy of help (love);” “I can do it myself,” etc. But, for the most part, people just forget to ask.
Pichaya and I have learned that Divine Spirit, Spirit, or “the Universe,” call it what you like, won’t interfere in our lives unless we ask.

Working in the Disability Services field, I would usually associate IQ with a person’s mental and functional ability to live their life as independently as possible. It wasn’t until I started using spiritual techniques such as chanting mantras, contemplating, and practicing mindfulness, that I could see a direct correlation between spiritual IQ and my ability to live in harmony and balance with the Infinite.
Daily practices like this certainly help me to live more graciously, but also to be awake to life’s synchronicities and guidance through waking dreams.

Midway through college I had decided to pursue a career as a mathematician. But not without some doubts. I was drawn to math because I enjoyed it, but was unsure if I had sufficient talent to reach the Master’s or Doctor’s Degree I was aiming for.
While mulling over my situation, my father approached me one morning just as I was about to leave for the college campus to go to a math class. “I think you might like this,” he said, as he handed me an old math book he had picked up at a library sale. “It has an unusual feature as you will see when you open it.”

The Music of the Spheres
All life is connected at the innermost level by thin golden strands of light, weaving a tapestry of divine love. It is a shimmering, musical wave of energy—“the Music of the Spheres”—that we can hear with our inner senses in contemplation.
The Music of the Spheres is known by other names: “Divine Love,” “Divine Spirit,” “the Holy Spirit,” “Spirit,” “the Voice of God,” even, generically, “the Universe.”
It speaks to us in dreams, inner whisperings, and through symbols in our daily life—waking dreams. This divine consciousness provides guidance, warnings, glimpses into our future, clarity on our past, and confirmations on important matters, including relationships.
