Animals love the song of HU. They are drawn to the celestial music like a magnet. My trips to a farm with Mike have proven this to be true.

When Mike was drinking raw goat milk, we would purchase it from a very kind man named Dennis. His goats loved him. Every time Dennis was out of their sight, they would call for him and scream loudly like children throwing a tantrum. It was painful to hear the crying goats. Mike and I did our best to console them by singing HU.

One day, while Mike was engaged in a lively discussion with Dennis inside the barn, I was waiting outside by the fence watching the tribe of goats standing fifty feet away enjoying their breakfast. They looked peaceful and content chewing the fresh green grass. They appeared to live in the moment, not thinking about the past or worrying about the future. They were demonstrating what it means to “just be.”

Observing the goats, I realized how much God loves us. I felt happy to be alive, to love and be loved. I appreciated Dennis for his wonderful service to our community. I also appreciated all life around me: the friendly black dog, the adventuresome cat, the lush green grass beneath tall Fir and Pine, and puffy white clouds in the deep blue sky. My heart was filled with boundless love. As this love overflowed, I felt inspired to sing HU and tell God, “I love you.”

The moment I sang HU, one goat suddenly stopped chewing grass, turned her head, and made eye contact with me. The doe began to walk confidently in my direction. She stopped a few steps away and stared up at me with a sweet look in her eyes as if to say, “Please serenade me with HU.” A few seconds later, the rest of the herd followed the leader.

Soon, eight of them lined up joyfully, side by side, gazing at me with a mellow and affectionate look in their eyes while I continued singing HU. Clearly, they were drawn to the powerful energy of this sacred song and immense love that flowed through me. Before we left, I took pictures of these wonderful Souls who willingly posed for a group portrait to commemorate their first time hearing the song of HU.
